About 23% of all fiction sales are romance, making it one of the most popular book genres of all time! Arguably, fantasy is one of the closest runner ups to romance popularity. We have always loved these two genres and with all the conversation surrounding book bans, we felt it important to push back on that narrative!

We focus on uplifting indie authors, especially those in marginalized communities, and are actively fighting the current administrations looming book bans. We believe mental health, sexual orientation, disabilities, affirming gender, etc. deserve to be represented in books where the characters find love or the confidence to say “enough is enough, it’s time to rise.” Often, traditional publishing companies don’t believe these narratives are “marketable” to the generalized community. We disagree. As a POC Woman Owned Business who is also in the LGBTQIA+ community, it’s important to us to advocate for these groups and start being a BIGGER part of those important conversations!

Yes! We are more than happy to accept gently used Romance or Fantasy books that are in good condition with minimal to no damage. You can email us at info@betweenthecovers.shop to coordinate.

We currently utilize Ingram, Bookshop.org and Libro.fm, or you can submit directly to us! Our book submissions are open quarterly. Visit our “Author Interest” page for submissions. Please do not come to pop up events to pitch books. We are only staffed by one person and are unable to do consignment offhand.

We are at many “family friendly events” like farmers markets and festivals. We carry some titles that vary in adult content but not all titles are explicit in nature. We are careful about selecting books that have covers that aren’t too “obvious” and try to be mindful there may be little eyes amongst our shoppers so our merchandising is also carefully selected. We do have “The Little Red Wagon” of books for our smaller readers that have been donated!

We can stay through a light drizzle however any worsening conditions may have us forced to close early or cancel all together. Please turn the notifications on our stories on Instagram so you don’t miss an update.

We are a mobile business and carry a limited amount of inventory. For this reason, all sales are final and we are unable to offer returns or exchanges.
